Classes for Nonfiction Writers
Family Writing, Biography, Memoir and Community History
Our six-part weekly series of classes is instructed by historian/author Jeanette Taylor and writer/editor Annette Yourk, to bring you varied perspectives. Their sessions run for three hours, once a week, and include interactive in-class exercises and homework designed to get you fully immersed in your project.
What You Get
Our classes provide an in-depth overview of a nonfiction writing project, from research and data organization to narrative structure, story arc and writing craft to publication options. You’ll learn about the value of peer critique and get insightful instructor feedback on a sample of your writing.
Bring your in-process manuscript—or an idea for a project—to use as the germ for in-class writing. By the end of this series you’ll be well launched into your book, blog or scrapbook.
Class Fees
The cost is $140 per person, which includes a jam-packed handbook. That’s $23 per three-hour session!
Upcoming Classes
We hold classes in the mid-Vancouver Island region, between the Comox Valley and Campbell River, BC.

Do you live outside our area? Let’s talk about a workshop, anywhere in the Pacific Northwest, tailored to your group’s interests. Check our workshops page for details.
